The Position
Our Client is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions supporting autonomy, perception, analytics, and generative AI initiatives. This role provides technical leadership across multiple programs, driving AI/ML strategy, system architecture, and innovation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, mission-critical solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities

Lead AI/ML architecture, technical strategy, and system design across multiple programs

Develop advanced AI solutions for autonomy, perception, analytics, and generative AI

Define AI/ML standards, frameworks, and best practices for scalable deployment

Guide R&D initiatives and evaluate emerging AI technologies

Build and optimize AI infrastructure, data pipelines, and MLOps processes

Lead model development, validation, testing, and deployment

Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and architecture trade studies

Collaborate with engineering, program, and infrastructure teams

Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects

Present technical solutions to leadership, customers, and stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field.

14+ years of AI/ML experience (16+ years without a degree)

Expertise in deep learning, generative AI, reinforcement learning, and machine learning architectures

Experience designing and deploying large-scale AI/ML systems

Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C#, and/or Java

Experience with MLOps, cloud/on-prem infrastructure, and data pipelines

Technical leadership experience with cross-functional engineering teams

Knowledge of aerospace/defense software development and cybersecurity practices

Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience

Master's or Ph.D. in AI/ML or a related field

Experience with autonomy, sensor fusion, embedded systems, or edge AI

Expertise with GPU acceleration, CUDA, TensorRT, or parallel computing

Knowledge of explainable AI (XAI), RLHF, or emerging AI technologies

Experience developing enterprise AI/ML standards and validation frameworks

Publications, patents, or technical thought leadership in AI/ML

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $95 - $100, with additional benefits
