Full-time Contract Position – Hagerstown, MD

The Position
The Aircraft Inspector II is responsible for conducting in-process inspections to ensure aircraft, systems, and components meet manufacturer specifications and FAA regulatory standards for airworthiness. Operating under an active FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Repairman Certificate, this role identifies non-conformances, verifies compliance, and supports quality and safety requirements within aviation maintenance operations. Working in a safety-sensitive environment, the inspector plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, operational integrity, and the overall safety of aircraft systems and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform in-process inspections of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and components

Verify airworthiness and conformance to manufacturer specifications and government regulations

Identify and document discrepancies or breaches of airworthiness standards

Exercise inspection authority within the scope of authorized FAA certification

Inspect structures, equipment, and aviation-related materials in a safety-sensitive environment

Support audit and inspection processes in accordance with established procedures
-
Maintain accurate inspection documentation and reports using Microsoft Office tools

Handle or inspect hazardous materials and operate equipment as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

No immediate direct reports

Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience

A higher level degree may substitute for experience

Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe (A), or Powerplant (P), or Repairman Certificate
-
Experience with aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts

Basic understanding of audit and inspection processes and procedures

Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Experience
-
Exposure to aviation maintenance and/or inspection operations processes and procedures

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Work Environment

On-site position located in Hagerstown, Maryland

This is a 1-year contract

Compensation
-
Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $30 - $35, with additional benefits ​
