The Position
As an Aircraft Inspector III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of the fleet. You will utilize your expertise to conduct thorough inspections of aircraft, systems, equipment, and components, verifying their compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications. Your primary responsibility will be to identify any discrepancies that could affect the airworthiness of our aircraft, ensuring that all standards are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness, safety, and compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications

Identify, document, and report deficiencies, discrepancies, and non-conformance issues during in-process inspections and final evaluations

Perform and approve inspections of minor repairs and alterations (non-337 form work) in accordance with regulatory requirements

Issue approvals for return to service after inspection of minor work, ensuring all maintenance activities meet established standards

Apply thorough knowledge of aerospace inspection processes, FAA guidelines, and quality assurance practices to maintain aircraft readiness

Review technical data, maintenance records, and inspection checklists for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams to resolve inspection findings and recommend corrective actions

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aircraft systems, inspection techniques, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with evolving industry standards

Operate within safety-sensitive conditions, adhering to strict aviation safety, hazardous material handling, and occupational safety requirements

Support compliance audits, inspections, and reporting requirements in alignment with FAA, DoD, and aerospace industry standards

Uphold company and federal safety standards by ensuring rigorous inspection practices in outdoor, high-noise, and hazardous working environments

Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
-
A higher level degree may substitute for experience
-
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
-
Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
-
Thorough knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts

Understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures

Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Experience

Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1

Understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations

Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Compensation

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $40 - $45, with additional benefits ​
