Full-time Contract Position – Hagerstown, MD

The Position
As an Aircraft Inspector IV, you will apply your advanced skills and expertise to perform detailed inspections of aircraft, systems, equipment, and components to verify airworthiness and compliance with manufacturer specifications, FAA regulations, and government standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and reporting any discrepancies or breaches of safety standards while ensuring the highest level of quality control. Your inspection authority covers the full spectrum of oversight, including in-process inspections, final inspections, and approval for return to service of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Duties & Responsibilities

Conducting comprehensive inspections of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance

Reviewing all manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and government regulations to validate conformance

Performing in-process inspections at critical stages of maintenance, repair, and assembly

Executing final inspections prior to aircraft release and sign-off for return to service

Identifying, documenting, and reporting any defects, deviations, or breaches of airworthiness standards

Ensuring all maintenance records, logbooks, and inspection reports are completed accurately and in compliance with FAA and company standards

Collaborating with maintenance teams and engineers to resolve discrepancies and recommend corrective actions

Exercising full inspection authority to approve, reject, or return components, systems, or completed aircraft work

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for safety, efficiency, and compliance

Staying up to date with industry regulations, technical updates, and manufacturer bulletins to ensure inspection standards remain current

Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

A higher level degree may substitute for experience

Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification

Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts

Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures

Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Experience
-
Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1

Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations

Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation Experience with first article inspections

Prior experience with aircraft modifications

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
Work Environment

On-site position located in Hagerstown, Maryland

This is a 1-year contract
Compensation
-
Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $45 - $50, with additional benefits
