The Position

Kim & Serritella LLP is seeking an experienced and exceptional mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney to join their New York office. The firm was founded by BigLaw refugees that take a client-centric approach producing high-caliber work while maintaining work life balance among their attorneys.
 

This is a position at a small and growing modern firm, where everyone pulls up their sleeves and has a can-do attitude. While busy, it is a collegial work environment where willingness to work and learn is valued. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting involved in a business at an early (and growing) stage. The firm does not have a billable hour requirement, rather they have a target goal of 1500 hours per year. The starting base salary range is between $175K and $200K with the opportunity to earn a bonus based on individual performance and firm profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle all phases of litigation including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, motion practice and court appearances

  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues on complex cases

  • Maintain compliance with case deadlines and reporting obligations

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

​

Skills & Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in U.S. federal courts and a
    demonstrated interest in investor-related lawsuits, securities litigation and/or crypto related litigation

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills with strong courtroom presence

  • Substantial experience drafting legal briefs in connection with dispositive and discovery motions

  • Aptitude in conducting legal research on complex and sophisticated issues

  • Ability to operate confidently on an independent basis

  • Strong critical thinking skills when presented with complicated and novel legal issues with the ability to come up with solutions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with small or large teams

  • Experience working at a boutique to mid-size law firm is ideal

  • A demonstrated commitment to pro bono is a plus

  • J.D. Graduate preferably from a Tier 14 law school

  • Active and good standing membership with the New York State Bar (NJ and CA bar a plus)

Compensation

  • Position offers a salary of $175,000 - $200,000, with additional benefits​
