The Position

The Enterprise Architect plays a key role in shaping the company’s digital transformation strategy by designing scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise systems that support critical business operations and scientific innovation. This position serves as a strategic bridge between technology and business goals, ensuring that IT solutions align with organizational objectives across research, manufacturing, and commercial functions. The Enterprise Architect collaborates with senior leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to develop architecture roadmaps, modernize legacy systems, and guide the adoption of emerging technologies that advance scientific and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create reference architecture diagrams from existing SDER reviews, vendor documentation and project artifacts using LeanIX

  • Document architecture pattens covering SaaS integration, cloud-native applications, data platforms, and internal tools within LeanIX platform

  • Map security controls and enterprise standards to reference architects

  • Maintain pre-approved technology stack specifications for each reference architecture 

  • Convert existing architecture diagrams to standard ArchiMate notation in LeanIX

  • Ensure consistency in architecture documentation across business units

  • Update and maintain architecture artifacts as platforms and standards evolve 

  • Collaborate with domain architects to validate reference architecture applicability

  • Assis with exception tracking and technical debt documentation 

  • Maintain data quality and completeness of architecture models in LeanIX

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technical documentation roles

  • Proven experience supporting architecture governance or review processes 

  • Demonstrated ability in creating technical documentation and architecture diagrams 

  • Strong communication skills with ability to present architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences 

  • Excellent collaboration skills working across multiple business units and teams

  • Proficiency with LeanIX for creating and maintaining architecture models and diagrams

  • Ability to leverage LeanIX metamodels and relationships for reference architecture documentation

  • Experience working with EA platforms to create consistent, reusable architecture artifacts

  • Working knowledge of ArchiMate 3.x notation and modeling principles

  • Ability to create clear, technically accurate architecture diagrams

  • Experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or Archi)

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and SaaS architectures

  • Basic understanding of integration patterns (REST, event-driven, batch)

  • Understanding of common architecture patterns (REST, event-driven, microservices)

  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements

  • Understanding of HA/DR concepts and business continuity principles

Preferred Experience

  • Background in IT consulting, systems integration, or platform engineering 

  • Experience with AI-assisted content curation tools

  • Knowledge of CMDB platforms and configuration management 

  • Understanding of SDLC and agile development methodologies 

Work Environment

  • Hybrid position located in Tarrytown, NY or Warren, NJ

  • This is a 6-month contract 

Compensation

  • Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $80 - $120, with additional benefits 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • ArchiMate Practitioner or similar architecture certification (preferred)

  • TOGAF Foundation (preferred)

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) - preferred
