The Position
K&S is hiring a Litigation Paralegal for its New York City office, offering an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative legal team. This full-time position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented paralegal with 4 or more years of experience in complex commercial litigation—not including criminal, family, or personal injury law. The role involves supporting attorneys in high-stakes litigation, managing court calendars, filing legal documents, preparing case materials, coordinating with court staff and ESI vendors, and organizing discovery and trial preparation. The position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in legal technology, and the ability to manage electronic and paper case files efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities

Manage complex commercial litigation cases from intake through trial

Maintain and monitor court calendars, deadlines, and case progress

File legal documents electronically via ECF, PACER, NYSCEF, AAA, JAMS, and FINRA

Coordinate with court clerks, court personnel, and vendors

Order and manage court transcripts and legal documentation

Prepare exhibits, binders, and case materials for hearings, trials, and depositions

Organize and maintain both electronic and physical case files

Retrieve case law, perform cite-checking, and assist with legal research

Collaborate with ESI vendors on document review and production

Summarize discovery materials and support motion practice

Perform administrative duties such as scanning, printing, and document saving

No billable hour requirement

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

Minimum 4 years of litigation paralegal experience (federal court experience required)

Expertise in complex commercial litigation and arbitration procedures

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Litera Compare

Strong legal research skills using Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, and case management software

In-depth knowledge of Federal and New York Civil Procedure and e-filing systems

Excellent writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management abilities

Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Comfortable learning new technology systems quickly

Prior experience working in a law firm setting is strongly preferred
Work Environment

Compensation
-
Position offers an annual salary of $75,000 - $120,000, with additional benefits
Preferred Experience

Experience handling complex commercial litigation in both federal and state courts

Familiarity with arbitration forums such as AAA, JAMS, and FINRA

Prior work in a high-volume law firm or fast-paced litigation environment

E-filing proficiency across multiple platforms (ECF, PACER, NYSCEF)

Hands-on experience coordinating with ESI vendors for document review and production

Knowledge of legal software tools such as Relativity, Concordance, or similar platforms

Advanced proficiency in legal citation tools and cite-checking procedures

Demonstrated ability to support attorneys through all phases of trial preparation

Experience organizing and summarizing large volumes of discovery material

Proven track record managing multiple priorities and shifting caseloads under tight deadlines
