The Position

The Logistics Specialist II supports aviation operations by coordinating and documenting the movement, storage, and allocation of spares, tools, test equipment, and materials. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking and regulatory compliance across domestic and international shipping activities, including hazardous materials handling and import/export requirements. The specialist maintains detailed logistics records, manages inventory databases, and supports efficient supply chain operations within a safety-sensitive aerospace environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and manuals

  • Route, document, and coordinate domestic and international shipments

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, global import/export, and hazardous materials regulations

  • Track and allocate inventory, parts, and materials within storage facilities

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, components, repair parts, and technical manuals

  • Coordinate shipping activities using carrier databases (e.g., FedEx, DHL, UPS)

  • Inspect, handle, and transport hazardous or controlled materials as required

  • Support aviation-related logistics operations in a safety-sensitive environment

  • Operate or supervise vehicles, forklifts, or other equipment as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

​

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience 

  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience 

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education 

  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills 

  • Basic understanding of Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques 

  • Experience with inventory databases

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems

  • HazMat Training/Certification 

  • Ability to operate a Forklift Experience with shipping databases, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS 

  • Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record 

  • Understanding of Shelf Life 

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Work Environment

  • On-site position located in Vandalia, Ohio

  • This is a 6-month contract 

​

Compensation

  • Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $15 - $20, with additional benefits â€‹

Requirements

  • Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
