The Position

The Planner I role supports production and supply chain operations by assisting with material planning, scheduling, and inventory coordination to ensure smooth manufacturing execution. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to track material availability, support master production planning, and resolve scheduling or material shortages using MRP and ERP systems.

 

Ideal candidates have a foundational understanding of supply chain or operations management, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with technical documentation such as schematics and blueprints. Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus, along with exposure to FAR/DFAR and lifecycle planning processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and scheduling the movement of raw materials, packaging, parts, components, services, supplies, and finished goods 

  • Support execution of the master production plan through MRP/ERP systems

  • Monitor material flow across production and inventory to ensure timely availability

  • Track production shortages, material constraints, and scheduling discrepancies

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving scheduling and material issues

  • Support implementation of engineering changes within the planning process

  • Maintain accurate planning data, documentation, and system updates

  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, engineering, and operations teams

  • Support product life cycle execution from planning through delivery

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

​

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field of study and typically 0-2 years of relevant experience 

  • Exposure to the engineering change process 

  • Basic understanding of master production planning 

  • Familiarity with applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

  • Intermediate Excel experience

  • Operations and logistics coordination

  • Data tracking and reporting

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in Supply Chain Management and /or Operations Management 

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR)

  • Understanding of Unified Commercial Code (UCC) 

  • Prior experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and /or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 

  • Systems Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Work Environment

  • On-site position located in Colorado Springs, CO

  • This is a 6-8 month contract to hire

Compensation

  • Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $15 - $20, with additional benefits â€‹

​

Requirements

  • Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
