The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection, and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering, and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space, and cyber.
The Position Our Client is seeking an Electrical Engineer II with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related Engineering field. In this challenging, fast-paced environment, you’ll apply your knowledge and experience to design and create the most groundbreaking aerospace and defense technologies – those that exist today and will shape tomorrow.
Electrical Engineers at this company research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting-edge products and services. These services range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft systems. You’ll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product life cycle of fully integrated systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct research and explore innovative solutions for aerospace and defense technologies
Develop concepts for mission payloads, electronic systems, and aircraft integration
Analyze the technical and operational viability of proposed designs
Design and develop advanced electrical and electronic systems for aerospace applications
Oversee prototyping by building and testing prototypes to validate functionality and performance
Ensure compliance to certify that systems meet aerospace and defense standards and regulations
Troubleshoot Issues by identifying and resolving design and system problems during development and testing
Continuously improve the efficiency, reliability, and performance of deployed systems
Manage the integration of electrical components into complex platforms
Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive design and functionality
Document processes to maintain accurate records of designs, tests, and system modifications
Provide technical expertise during the deployment and operational phases of systems
Apply creative problem-solving to engineering challenges and new technologies
Collaborate with clients, management, and external partners to align technical efforts with project goals
Supervisory Responsibilities
No immediate direct reports
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline
Minimum of 3 or more years of relevant experience
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Understanding of Computer-Aided Engineering tools
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams
Work Environment
On-site position located in Hagerstown, Maryland
Compensation
Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $40-$55, with additional benefits
Preferred Experience
Experience with simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
Experience with electrical design tools like CATIA Electrical (preferred), AutoCAD, or others
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience in composing and analyzing
Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) Knowledge of guidance and certification of aircraft Electrical Wiring
Interconnection Systems (EWIS) Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, including, but not limited to: model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
