The Position As a Software Engineer at the company, you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to design, develop, and improve cutting-edge software solutions. You will leverage your expertise to define, develop, test, certify, and optimize software for a diverse range of applications, from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and space exploration technologies.


Your responsibilities include coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting software and systems throughout the development lifecycle. As part of the team, you will play a key role in the design and development of new software products, ensuring their success from concept to implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cutting-edge software products for a range of systems, including mission payloads, electronic systems, aircraft, and space exploration technologies

  • Collaborate in an agile environment with cross-functional teams to ensure successful software development and integration

  • Define and implement software architecture to meet the specific requirements of advanced aerospace and mission-critical systems

  • Code, debug, test, and troubleshoot software throughout the full product development lifecycle

  • Perform rigorous testing and certification of software to ensure reliability, security, and performance standards

  • Continuously improve software systems by identifying and resolving issues during all phases of development

  • Support software integration with hardware components and ensure seamless performance across integrated systems

  • Contribute to the design and development of innovative software solutions that drive technological advancements in aerospace and space exploration

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline

  • Typically, 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Expertise in developing software for defense, aerospace, and space systems

  • Proven ability to design and develop software for mission-critical applications and small mission computers

  • Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Software and Mission Hardware Experience – Hands-on experience with UAS software and integration with mission hardware

  • Familiarity with STANAG, UCI, and COT Protocols – Knowledge of military and aerospace communication standards and protocols

  • Proficiency in C++ and C# Development – Strong coding skills in C++ and C# for building reliable and high-performance software systems

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Expertise – Experience using Cameo for MBSE and designing system architectures

  • Solid background in database design, development, and integration

  • Familiarity with tools like Make, Maven, CMake, and others for building and compiling software

  • Expertise with test frameworks such as JUnit, GoogleTest, and other automated testing tools

  • Experience using tools like Atlassian JIRA and GitHub for managing software development processes

  • Proficiency in working with Linux, Windows, and Embedded Systems environments

Work Environment

  • On-site position located in Englewood, Colorado

Compensation

  • Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $50-$63, with additional benefits
