The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a cutting-edge New Aircraft Design Program focused on next-generation military aviation. This onsite role in Englewood, Colorado plays a critical part in the design, development, and delivery of advanced aircraft systems from concept through production.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design complex aerospace components, conduct analysis and testing, and drive innovation across the full product lifecycle. Ideal candidates bring strong aerospace engineering fundamentals, experience with Computer-Aided Engineering tools, and a proven ability to work in multidisciplinary design environments to deliver high-performance, safe, and efficient aircraft solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and refinement of next-generation military aircraft systems and structures

Contribute to the full product lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, analysis, testing, certification, and production support

Design and develop complex aerodynamic components, mechanical systems, and aircraft structures

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing

Apply advanced aerospace and mechanical engineering principles to optimize aircraft performance, safety, reliability, and efficiency

Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to perform structural, mechanical, and systems analyses

Support research, testing, and validation of new technologies, products, and engineering processes

Ensure engineering designs meet program requirements, regulatory standards, and quality expectations

Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the design engineering team as needed

Skills & Qualifications
-
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

Understanding of engineering principles and practices

Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools

Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Preferred Experience
-
Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes

Compensation

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $70 - $75, with additional benefits ​
