Full-time Contract Position – Hagerstown, MD

The Position
The Structural Technician II plays a key role in the assembly and modification of aerospace structures, ensuring precision, safety, and quality in every stage of the build process. This position requires hands-on experience with assembly techniques, part fitting, and structural repair, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where safety and accuracy are paramount. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex aerospace projects while working alongside a team of skilled technicians and engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assemble and modify aerospace structures and components using technical drawings, templates, jigs, and fixtures

Perform precision fitting operations such as drilling, riveting, filing, trimming, burring, and framing to meet engineering specifications

Measure and verify part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to ensure quality and accuracy

Incorporate design changes into incomplete or completed assemblies as required by engineering updates or modifications

Inspect and maintain structural integrity of assemblies and components to meet safety and performance standards

Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order and follow all safety procedures while operating heavy machinery or tools

Work in varied physical conditions, including standing, sitting, and lifting up to 50 lbs, while maintaining focus on precision and safety

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with production goals and compliance with aerospace standards

Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
-
A higher level degree may substitute for experience
-
Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

Must have/own tools in good working order
-
Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch
-
Experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques, and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable
-
Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks

Security Clearance may be required

Preferred Experience

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, NASA or US Military

Compensation

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $30 - $40, with additional benefits ​
