Full-time Contract Position – Hybrid/Onsite in CO

The Position
Our Client is seeking a highly experienced Systems Administrator to manage and support a complex IT infrastructure, including on-premise servers, cloud environments, and AI systems. This role involves maintaining and optimizing system performance, implementing security patches and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with NIST 800-171 standards. Responsibilities include managing virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, administering Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, and supporting Azure Entra and RBAC. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of relevant experience, strong expertise in cloud operations (AWS or Azure), and proficiency with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor or SolarWinds. This position also requires excellent troubleshooting skills across server environments, familiarity with LAN/WAN/VLAN networks, and the ability to provide technical support and documentation. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and maintain servers and related infrastructure components

Manage and maintain AI systems, including hardware and software components

Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of IT infrastructure

Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance to ensure security and reliability

Troubleshoot and resolve on premise and cloud infrastructure Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions

Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services
-
Administrator and support Azure Entra and RBAC Manage virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure)

Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures

Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior IT staff

Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams

Ensure NIST 800-171 compliance

Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Skills & Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 6 or more years of relevant experience
-
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
-
3-5 years experience implementing and supporting Hypervisor/Hyper Converged environments (VMware, Nutanix etc.)

1-3 years experience implementing and supporting AWS or Azure Cloud Operations

3-5 years experience with IT Operations Monitoring Tools (Azure Monitor, VROperations, Solarwinds)

Ability to Troubleshoot Network connectivity between Server-to-Server infrastructure across environments

Experience with networks (LAN, WAN, VLAN) and patch management of devices

Familiarity with administration and troubleshooting various operating systems and platforms (Microsoft, Red Hat, Azure, AWS)

Excellent communication skills​

Compensation

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $65-$75, with additional benefits​
