Tech Writer III - Engineering Documentation Specialist
Full-time Contract Position – Remote

The Position
Join our Client's Corporate Engineering team as a Technical Writer III in a dynamic, newly created role at the forefront of our digital transformation initiative. This strategic position focuses on modernizing engineering tools and standardizing frameworks such as Model-Based Definition (MBD), DevWorks for SDLC, and Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE.

As a Technical Writer III, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating high-impact internal documentation, roadmaps, and change management communication. Your work will align cross-functional teams, clarify project value streams, and enhance collaboration across design engineering, operations, and manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work closely with the Lead Program Manager and senior leaders to document strategy and transformation efforts for engineering modernization initiatives

Create high-quality infographics, journey maps, and roadmap materials that articulate the current state and 5-year vision for the engineering org

Document and align messaging around engineering tools: Dassault 3DExperience, DevWorks, and MBSE initiatives
-
Translate complex engineering and digital transformation efforts into clear, digestible internal communications and reference material

Serve as a SharePoint site owner, organizing and standardizing internal project sites for better stakeholder usability and consistency

Attend and facilitate review meetings with stakeholders to iterate on documentation and incorporate cross-team feedback

Collaborate with engineering, product development, software, and transformation teams to gather insights and support messaging consistency across channels
-
Help tie documentation efforts to larger organizational change management (OCM) plans to support adoption and cultural alignment
-
Be a brand ambassador—ensuring all outputs align with the company's corporate identity and tone

Skills & Qualifications
-
Deep experience with desktop publishing tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite
-
Strong ownership, organization, and attention to detail

Experience writing documentation with minimal input from SMEs

Prior work on business transformation projects

Ability to connect project-level efforts to organizational value streams
-
Experience creating visual storytelling content such as roadmaps or journey maps
-
Strong understanding of documentation standards and tailoring communication to technical and non-technical audiences

SharePoint experience (ownership/standardization)
-
Strong writing and editing skills with excellent communication and interpersonal savvy

Preferred Experience

Prosci Certification or OCM background is highly desirable
-
Familiarity with Dassault 3DExperience, SDLC, and MBSE a significant plus
-
Aerospace & Defense experience is helpful but not required

Prior experience crafting transformation narratives and communicating strategy

Creative thinker who can take ambiguous information and distill it into polished, clear deliverables

Compensation

Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $45-$50, with additional benefits

Requirements

Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
